From sceptic to supporter. How we turned a single hire into 5+ years and 50 placements.
The best recruitment partnerships are rarely built overnight.
For one growing technology consultancy based in rural Wales, previous experiences with recruiters had left them understandably sceptical. Agencies had promised plenty but failed to deliver, making it difficult to justify investing in another recruitment partnership.
At the same time, the business had ambitious growth plans. They needed to scale across multiple areas of the organisation, but they wanted proof that a recruitment partner could actually deliver before committing to a longer-term relationship.
Rather than asking for exclusivity or a long-term commitment, they gave us a single role. We filled it successfully. Then another - then another.
As confidence grew, so did the working relationship.
Ben Woodward, Co-Founder of Accelero, said:
"This client had every reason to be cautious based on previous experiences, so we didn't ask them to take a leap of faith. We focused on delivering one role well, then continued to do exactly the same as their hiring requirements grew. That's how long-term partnerships should work."
Hiring for tech roles in rural Wales presented its own set of recruitment challenges. While the business was an attractive employer, the location naturally limited the available talent pool for some specialist technology roles.
Rather than relying on one approach, we worked both the local market and the wider relocation market, identifying strong candidates who were not only technically capable but genuinely motivated by the opportunity and the lifestyle the region offered.
Over the next five years, we supported hiring across the business, delivering countless permanent and contract placements as the company continued to grow.
The success of that growth ultimately led to the business being acquired by one of the UK's larger technology consultancies. Importantly, our relationship didn't end with the acquisition.
Based on our proven track record, we were retained as a recruitment supplier under the new ownership and continue to support the business today. That continuity says a great deal about the value of building recruitment partnerships on consistent delivery rather than promises.
If you've been disappointed by recruitment agencies in the past, it's understandable to be cautious. The right partner won't expect blind trust. They'll earn it by delivering, consistently, from the very first hire.
