When the parameters for recruitment come with layers of complexity, genuine experience matters.

Scaling a specialist technology business is challenging enough - doing it across multiple locations, in a highly regulated sector and while trying to hit an ambitious headcount target - that’s something else entirely.

A defence technology company specialising in surveillance systems was struggling to recruit at the pace required to support its growth plans. The business needed to hire simultaneously across Wales, Manchester and London, covering a broad range of Engineering and Technology disciplines.

Finding candidates across multiple locations was only part of the challenge. The right recruitment partner needed to understand the realities and nuances of the defence sector - from navigating security clearance requirements to recognising the technical experience and personal attributes that make candidates successful in highly sensitive environments.

Like much of our work, an introduction came through recommendation rather than cold outreach - an endorsement built on consistent delivery over many years. From day one, we supported recruitment across the organisation's Engineering and Technology functions, covering Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering and IT roles.

Rather than treating each office as a separate recruitment challenge, we worked as a single delivery partner across all three locations, giving hiring managers a consistent approach regardless of where the vacancy was based.

Over an 18-month period, we delivered more than 30 permanent hires across Wales, Manchester and London.

Ben Woodward, Co-Founder of Accelero, said:

"Recruitment becomes much more complex when you're hiring across multiple disciplines and locations at the same time. Add the requirements of the defence sector into the mix and it becomes even more important to work with a partner who understands both the market and the pace the business needs to move at. Consistency is what keeps programmes moving."

That consistency enabled the organisation to achieve its headcount milestones, ensuring critical programmes remained properly resourced and on schedule.

We know that the strongest recruitment partnerships aren't defined by one difficult hire. They're defined by the ability to deliver again and again, across different teams, locations and disciplines, without quality or pace slipping.

If your business needs a recruitment partner with genuine experience across Engineering and Technology - and the capability to deliver consistently across multiple locations, then we’d love to catch up with you and your team and  see how we could help.
