Investment doesn't wait for your recruitment function to catch up.

Private equity investment often brings ambitious growth targets - the challenge is delivering them.

One SaaS business operating in the energy sector had recently been acquired and needed to scale rapidly to meet the commitments made as part of the investment plan.

They needed a recruitment partner who could move quickly, provide structure from day one and effectively become an extension of the business until the new organisation was in place.

The business had clear hiring targets across its Technology and Change teams, but there was one significant problem. There was no internal HR or recruitment function to deliver them.

We were introduced through recommendation -  an existing client who knew the Managing Director of the acquired business.

The brief was straightforward to describe, but far from simple to deliver: Recruit 50 people across the Technology and Change function in just three months.

With a clear and agreed process in place, we could focus on what we do best. Within five days, a targeted shortlist of candidates who matched both the technical requirements and the culture of the business.

The timing made the challenge even greater.

The project began at the end of November, with the client needing every offer issued before Christmas, so the new team could begin joining the business early in the new year.

Rather than simply sourcing candidates, we worked collaboratively with the leadership team to design a recruitment process that could operate at the pace required.

  • Interview stages were streamlined without compromising quality.

  • Communication was tightly managed.

  • Hiring managers had clear visibility throughout, allowing decisions to be made quickly and consistently.

In effect, we provided the recruitment capability the business didn't yet have internally - and the result was exactly what the client needed.

All 50 roles across Technology and Change were successfully filled, with the final offers issued on Christmas Eve. More importantly, the business entered the new year with the people it needed to execute its growth plans.

Alistair Cooke, Co-Founder of Accelero, said:

"Speed of delivery only creates any value when it's supported by structure. Moving quickly doesn't mean skipping steps or lowering the standards, it means building a recruitment process that allows good decisions to happen faster, while giving both candidates and hiring managers confidence throughout."

What began as a single difficult assignment has since developed into an ongoing partnership, with us continuing to support the business as it grows.

The recruitment project wasn't the objective - it was the enabler.

By rapidly building the team, the business was in a position to deliver on the commitments made to its private equity investors and support the next phase of growth with confidence.

Our best recruitment partnerships don't simply fill vacancies. They create the capability businesses need to achieve their commercial objectives, especially when time is against them.

If you're preparing for rapid growth and need a recruitment partner who can provide both pace and structure, we'd love to talk.
